Communication is a very complex skill with many aspects. Research sourced, and experiences of teaching children with disabilities by TriSkills, shows that children learn to communicate when they have lots of practice during everyday life, including during interactions with their teachers and instructors who pay attention to them and respond in a positive way.
The routines brought about through the TriSkills programs of lessons are great times to build in communication opportunities. Our staff provide valuable assistance to parents and schools when a child has a language delay by adding simple but important movement activities to the things that they already do. Much of our work emphasises supporting the school staff with improving each child’s communication.
